About Us

The Lane Cove Music Education Co-op Ltd is a not-for-profit entity that has been formed by a group of professional music educators to facilitate the Lane Cove Public Schools extensive and highly regarded extra-curricular Music Program.

 

The Co-op’s members currently tutor students and conduct groups at LCPS.  The collective efforts over many years of them and their predecessors have significantly contributed to the success of this outstanding music program, and they are passionately committed to its continued success for many more years to come.

Our tutors have been delivering an award winning Music Program for LCPS for the past 30years. More than just providing music tuition, the members of the LCPS Co-op provide a high calibre music program lead by selected experienced industry musicians to provide a holistic music programme that performs to a high standard.

Lane Cove’s music students usually leave our program with the ability to sight-read music, perform music and, most importantly, enjoy and appreciate music. They leave LCPS using the correct terminology and with the ability to play together in ensembles. On entering high school, many of our past students have won music scholarships. Most join their high school music program and play in bands and orchestras. Some have gone on to become professional musicians, or have otherwise played at a high level. Most importantly, time and time again, former LCPS students who we meet later in life continually tell us that their passion for music began at the school.
